Graffiti Removal Melbourne

Graffiti removal from brick, concrete, render and metal — done properly, so you are not left with a clean patch that advertises where the tag used to be. Tagged sites get hit again, so the priority is getting it off quickly and leaving nothing worth photographing.

Drawn to specification — site photography scheduled. Not presented as a Vastex job.

02 — The method

5 steps, in this order, every time.

  1. 01

    Assess paint & substrate

Aerosol, enamel, marker and etching all behave differently, and the wall dictates what can safely be used.

  2. 02

    Test patch

A small area is treated first to confirm the paint releases and the substrate is unaffected.

  3. 03

    Apply remover

Substrate-specific remover applied with controlled dwell time and hand agitation where needed.

  4. 04

    Rinse

Hot water rinse at safe pressure, with runoff contained where required.

  5. 05

    Protect

Optional anti-graffiti coating applied so the next hit is a wash rather than a job.

The problem with blasting it off

Sandblasting or hitting a tag with maximum pressure will remove the paint. It will also remove the top layer of the wall, leaving a rough, lighter, permanently visible rectangle — a "ghost" that is often more conspicuous than the tag was. On render it exposes the base coat. On brick it opens the pores so the next tag soaks in deeper and is harder to remove again.

We use graffiti-specific removers matched to both the paint type and the substrate, so the paint releases and the wall does not. Where a shadow is unavoidable on porous, unsealed masonry, we will say so up front and discuss whether a coating or a full-panel treatment is the better outcome.

Speed matters

Removing graffiti within 24 to 48 hours does two things: fresh paint has not fully cured into the substrate so it releases far more easily, and the site stops being a reliable canvas. Sites that get cleaned quickly and consistently get tagged noticeably less.

For body corporates, retail landlords and facility managers dealing with repeat hits, we can hold a standing arrangement and respond without needing a new quote each time.

Anti-graffiti coatings

A sacrificial anti-graffiti coating sits on the surface as a clear barrier. When the wall gets tagged, the coating and the paint come off together with hot water, and the coating is simply reapplied. It turns a slow chemical job into a quick wash — worthwhile on any wall that has been hit more than once.

Permanent (non-sacrificial) coatings are also available for high-traffic surfaces where repeat reapplication is not practical.

03 Graffiti Removal FAQ

Detail
questions.

How quickly can you remove graffiti?

For commercial clients and repeat-hit sites we prioritise fast turnaround, usually within 24–48 hours of the call. The sooner it is treated the more completely it comes off, because fresh paint has not fully cured into the surface.

Will there be a mark left behind?

On sealed, coated or non-porous surfaces, generally none. On old, porous, unsealed brick or concrete a faint shadow is sometimes unavoidable — we will tell you that before we start, and offer options such as a full-panel clean or a coating.

Do you remove graffiti from glass and roller doors?

Yes. Glass, Colorbond, aluminium and powder-coated roller doors are all handled with methods appropriate to the finish. Etched or scratched glass is different again — that requires polishing or replacement rather than cleaning.

Is an anti-graffiti coating worth it?

If a wall has been tagged more than once, almost always. A sacrificial coating means the next removal is a hot-water wash instead of a chemical job, which is faster, cheaper and far gentler on the wall.

Free, takes about twenty minutes, and you see the finish on your own wall before there is a price on the table.
