04 — How a site clean runs
Every job runs this order, from a 200 m² terrace to an eleven-storey facade. The only thing that changes is how long each stage takes.
01
We identify the brick, the joint and the staining, then run a test patch somewhere inconspicuous. You sign off on the finish before we quote it.
02
SWMS, insurance certificates, SDS for every product and a water management plan land with your site manager before we mobilise.
03
Glazing, frames and finished works masked and sheeted. Wash water bunded and captured. Elevations released back to you as they finish, not all at the end.
04
Inspected with your site manager, photographed elevation by elevation, reported. Anything flagged is rectified before the truck leaves.
05 — Substrate reference
Most brickwork damage we get called to repair was caused by someone cleaning it. This is the table we work from — bring it to your next quote comparison.
| Substrate | Method | Working pressure |
|---|---|---|
| New face brick | Pre-soak, buffered acid wash, neutralising rinse | 1,200 – 1,800 psi |
| Recycled & reclaimed brick | Acid-free chemical, extended dwell, low pressure | 500 – 900 psi |
| Heritage brick, lime mortar | Poultice and hand rinse. No acid, no abrasives | under 400 psi |
| Render & bagged finishes | Soft wash, dilute hypochlorite, gravity rinse | under 300 psi |
| Sandstone & bluestone | Nebulised water, chemical spot treatment only | under 500 psi |
| Pavers, concrete, hardstand | Enclosed rotary surface cleaner, water recovery | 2,500 – 3,500 psi |
06 — What builders ask
If yours isn’t here, call the office. Someone who has been on a site answers the phone.
(03) 9000 0000It is the majority of what we do. We are inducted, insured, carry SWMS, and schedule around your program rather than expecting the site to work around us. Most of our work is new-build brick cleaning ahead of handover, plus facade and site cleans during construction.
Same day in most cases, and within 24 hours as a rule. Send photos and rough dimensions and we can often quote without attending. For larger construction jobs we prefer to walk the site — it is faster than three rounds of emails about access.
Yes — full public liability cover, with a certificate of currency supplied on request or up front for commercial and construction sites. We can also provide SWMS and JSA documentation before attending.
Melbourne metro and surrounding suburbs — inner city, eastern, northern, western, south-eastern, bayside and the Mornington Peninsula. If your site is outside that, ask anyway; larger commercial jobs are worth travelling for.
We use biodegradable products wherever the job allows, protect landscaping and adjacent trades before starting, and set up wash-water containment where the site or council requires it. If your project has an environmental management plan, send it with the enquiry and we will work to it.
Yes, on any full-facade or full-house clean. You see the finish on your actual brick before committing, and we confirm the method before scaling it across hundreds of square metres. It removes the risk for both of us.
Drawings, a schedule, or a photo from your phone — enough to price it. Quote back within 24 hours of the site visit.
